Will AI reduce Human Interaction and potentially replace genuine Human Relationships?

It’s a fair question that we’ve heard discussed many times, with differing results. As artificial intelligence becomes more advanced, some worry that it might replace genuine human connection. But we see the reality as more nuanced and, in many ways, more hopeful.

AI is exceptionally good at handling repetitive, manual tasks — things like data entry, scheduling, customer service chats, and even filtering emails. By offloading these time-consuming chores to machines, many believe we can free ourselves to focus on what really matters: building deeper relationships, exploring creativity, and engaging in meaningful conversations.

This side of the argument is rooted in the ideology that rather than replacing human connection, AI has the potential to enhance it. Imagine carers spending more time with patients because they no longer have to fill out endless paperwork. Or teachers focusing on inspiring students, not just marking homework. When machines take care of the mechanical, humans are empowered to be more human.

We like to remain optimistic but are not blinkered by positivity – we see that the real answer is it depends. And what it depends on is us and how we use AI. It doesn’t have to mean less connection. Done right, it can mean more time for the moments and people that matter most.
