AI Literacy – EU AI Act
Essentials Course
Kompela have developed a comprehensive AI literacy course to support the EU AI Act, which came into force on 1st August 2024. This self-paced, 90 minute online course is aimed at employees of businesses that currently or intend to share or use AI services anywhere within the EU.
Even businesses that are primarily based in the UK, or that generate their AI content here, fall under the requirement of this EU Law if they have EU based offices, customers or marketing reach.
Our course explores key AI technologies, and practical applications, as well as the risks and regulations associated with AI. This comprehensive approach will equip you with the knowledge to comply with the EU’s AI regulation and navigate the evolving landscape of AI, including:
- The legal responsibilities companies, and therefore employees, have when using AI within the EU.
- Key technologies like machine learning and natural language processing.
- How to interact with AI systems and interpret its outputs.
- How to identify risks associated with AI and strategies for mitigation.
- The importance of safeguarding and adapting company processes and policies.
Upon enrolment, each learner will have three-month access to the Kompela Academy online portal Learning Management System (LMS) that is available via a browser or mobile version. If more time is needed to complete the course, additional monthly access will need to be purchased. It is also recommended that learners re-take the full course or a refresher course annually.
A certificate will be issued upon completion, which businesses can use as evidence if audited by the EU AI Board.
Additionally, monthly progress reports, which will enable businesses to stay on track of their legal AI literacy responsibility, can be provided.
An additional summary document can be made available to organisations for on-going use within their business, as a reminder of the key AI literacy aspects. This document could be particularly useful for sharing on a company intranet.
